The Richmond Olympic Oval is owned and operated by the City of Richmond and not the federal government. The funding was approximately $120 million paid for by the City of Richmond and approximately $60 million from VANOC.

The federal government has no control over what the City of Richmond charges to use the facility and the parking facilities therein.

Hello Alice,
As you have been actively soliciting my support recently I feel that I must express my opinion on a recent trip to the vaunted Richmond Olympic Oval with guests of ours from Germany. I had expected that as a taxpayer-funded facility we might be privileged enough to set foot inside
the doors to see for ourselves and guests what a beautiful structure our hard-earned tax dollars had wrought. But no - I was informed tht a tour costing $7 each was the only way to gain entry to this grand facility! So go and look in the windows, Mr. taxpayer! What a rip-off, Alice. And I had to pay for parking as well. I think the whole thing is shameful.
Thank you,
Tom Heath
