Today, the Minister of Finance provided an economic update to Canadians. This update confirmed what we have already seen of this Liberal government; they continue to break election promises, and find more ways to raise your taxes.

Reckless spending has more than tripled the deficit that Justin Trudeau promised. What the Liberals did not promise today was a return to a balanced budget. There has been no relief for our small businesses and in fact, the government fully intends to continue raising payroll taxes and creating more red tape. This will discourage job creation. The Liberals do not understand that borrowed money must be paid back and as a result, their policies will mean you’re paying more today and more tomorrow, plus interest.

I will continue to challenge the government and ensure that our small business owners are heard, and that taxpayer money is spent responsibly.
